The Green Winged Macaw ( Ara chloropterusas), is also known as a Red and Green Macaw, and enjoys a nick name of Gentle Giant in the avian world. These are the second largest macaws that can be kept as pet birds. In the wild they are found in Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Guyana, Brazil, Peru, Suriname, French Guiana, Paraguay, Argentina, and Bolivia.
These Green Wing Macaws for sale get their name from a distinct band of forest-green at the center of its wings. Their coloring is strikingly beautiful with bright turquoise under the green band, and their bodies and heads have vibrant shades of cherry red plumage. Green Winged Macaw’s have dark blue in their flight feathers and their tails are mixed with blue and red. These birds also have a strong jaw that make cracking and enjoying nuts easy!

Life Span:Â about 70years
Care: These are large birds and a large stainless steel cage is best suited for their needs. A cage size of 48″ wide, 36″ deep, and 60″ tall – enough to easily open and flap their wings inside is recommended, and cages should have a minimum of 1″ to 1.5″  of bar spacing.
Diet: Lafeber’s Nutri-Berries and Lafeber’s Premium Avi Cakes, as well as fresh fruits, vegetables.
