Description
The Seagreen Parrotfinch is a uniquely beautiful mutation from the Red-headed or Red-throated Parrotfinch (Erythrura Psittacea). In these adorable aviary gems, the green of the body on Seagreen Parrotfinches for sale is replaced by a pale sea-green color and the chest, tail and head is a pale orange, or even duller. This is a sex-linked mutation, which means that it can be carried by a male that is ‘split’ (heterozygous or has one dominant gene for normal color and one recessive gene for sea-green) but a female is either sea-green or normal. There is also a darker form of the sea green that some call ‘par blue’ where the body color is a deeper blue.
Geography: The Seagreen Parrotfinch is found over the entire island of New Caledonia, Australia.
